Teams and Fundraising

Henry's Team Green in green shirts

A team is a group of people with a shared purpose. At the Walk, that means supporting families who have gone through the transplant process. That support can take many forms.  We are grateful that so many people have formed teams to help raise funds for the Rainbow of Heroes Walk and the Family Support Program.

Creating a new team is easy. Let us know about your team so we can list it in our online donation system.

Fundraising as a team: Once teams are in our donation system, team members and friends can make financial contributions online in honor of their team.  We honor the teams who raise the most money in a special presentation at the Walk.

Fundraising ideas, our (optional) sponsor sheet, where to send donations, and more are on our teams FAQ page.

Create a Link: If you'd like to make a web or e-mail link specifically for donations to your team, our Create a Link tool can help.  We unfortunately can't answer questions about editing your particular web site or e-mail message, but we hope this tool is handy for you.

If you'd prefer not to use the tool, a link to our home page (http://rainbowofheroeswalk.org/) will work just fine, too.

Thank you to the ten teams who raised the most money for our last Walk, and to all the teams who helped make it such a success!

Why form a team?

There is no doubt that going through transplant is one of the most difficult challenges an individual and family will face in a lifetime.  We know that many families get through it by relying on the support of a virtual team of family, friends, co-workers, church, and others.

This fundraising event is built on the idea of teams in recognition of this kind of community, celebrating life and honoring loved ones.  Teams are encouraged to wear the same colors or special t-shirts to unite them.  This is a great way for people to be, and feel, really involved, beyond just writing a check.

We hope you'll also educate your team about transplant and the resources families need that we help provide, like money for food and transportation, parking passes, assistance with lodging, and phone cards, just to name a few.
