from Walk families and supporters

family member : Julie Bihn

Favorite part: Seeing other patients and their families who you have not seen in a very long time. Seeing all the nurses and support staff that we love.

why I attended:  (Julie Bihn has attended two Walks) The first year we attended, our daughter had been discharged just a few months before.  There was so much talk among the nurses and staff about how much fun it is.  Any excuse and chance to get out with her sounded great to us!  We had gotten lots of family and friends to get involved and raise money for our team.  We couldn't wait to see other patients in a fun setting rather than in the hallway of the day hospital.

most meaningful part:  When we release the balloons.  That moment is full of emotion.  Especially for those that you grew to love who lost their battle.  It is a also a moment full of hope.  It is a moment of reflection over what is to come for your child.
